Ian Gordon has almost 20 years experience as a lawyer in Australia.  Originally a commercial litigation lawyer, for the last 15 years Ian has been a construction lawyer providing legal services to participants in the Australian construction and engineering industry.  During his time as a construction lawyer, Ian has acted in “front end” projects for a diverse range of clients including consultants, contractors, government, private developers and statutory corporations.  Ian has also been responsible for the provision of strategic advice in relation to major disputes which have been resolved by arbitration, expert determination, mediation and litigation proceedings.

Commencing his legal career in Perth, Ian worked with Allens Arthur Robinson, Deacons, Freehills and Minter Ellison before becoming a partner of HWL Ebsworth in May 2003.

For the last three years, Ian has been a Senior Legal Counsel with Stockland, Australia’s leading diversified property group.  In that role he is responsible for the legal aspects of all construction projects undertaken by Stockland. 

Ian graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts.
