St John Frawley

St John has over 18 years’ experience as a construction and engineering practitioner. He specialises in all aspects of construction and engineering law, and the related fields of contracts, insurance and trade practices.

St John has substantial experience in conducting commercial negotiations and advising in respect of tenders, project delivery methods, risk management and the preparation of project documentation for a diverse range of institutional and private commercial clients. He also has wide experience in the strategic management of complex legal and technical disputes for participants in the construction and engineering industry. He is committed to the strategic management of matters and the use of alternative dispute resolution forms and techniques.

In addition, St John often advises insured clients concerning project administration and risk management, indemnity issues and policy interpretation in respect of construction and engineering projects. He regularly presents at industry forums where he addresses current legal and commercial issues affecting industry participants.

The construction and engineering industry and peer-rated ALB Guide: Building & Construction 2009 identified St John as one of 20 ‘leading lawyers’ in Australia and New Zealand, noting that “his depth of legal expertise, breadth of industry knowledge, common sense and commercially minded approach won great respect among clients”.
