Paul specialises in dispute resolution with a focus on construction related matters and prides himself on "knowing the client's business and providing accurate, timely legal advice which meets the client's budget and commercial requirements". He has appeared as advocate in numerous mediations, arbitrations and litigation in Australia, England and Asia.
After four years at the Victorian Bar, Paul moved to work in Thailand and has advised clients on a number of projects in the region including Bangkok's new airport and on contentious matters arising from Bangkok's largest wastewater project. Paul also advised Australian and US petroleum companies in obtaining survey and exploration concessions in Thailand and on several major developments and property fund-driven acquisitions in Thailand.
Paul joined HWL Ebsworth in August 2008 and is the Melbourne Practice Group Leader of the Building and Construction Group. Paul is a co-author of Victorian Pleading Precedents 1997 and is admitted to practise in Victoria, England and Wales and Hong Kong.
Paul will be presenting a session on "Keeping it out of the courts: Cost-effective dispute resolution" at the Melbourne masterclass on 21 October.
