Brigid Lloyd

Brigid Lloyd is an Associate Director with boutique law firm, MolinoCahill Lawyers. She specialises in disputes, contract advice and risk management strategies, for both principals and contractors in the construction, resources, infrastructure and defence industries.

Brigid Lloyd practises primarily in the area of construction disputes and providing contract advice, acting for both principals and contractors. She has most recently been working with a principal to prepare and implement claims management procedures to assist with the administration of a large number of contracts in the context of significant Australian resources projects. Brigid’s ongoing role sees her dealing in a pragmatic way with a wide range of legal and commercial issues as they arise, and providing assistance as required to both the on-site and head office contracts teams. As part of this role, Brigid and Tony Molino developed and presented a training session designed to assist project personnel to administer claims and contracts correctly, and to provide a forum for personnel to raise questions and concerns in this context.

Brigid also has experience in the negotiation and drafting of both construction and general commercial agreements for Australian and international clients in the context of assisting with defence industry tenders, and advising on risk management strategies and drafting in the negotiation of major construction projects.

Brigid will be presenting a session on "Analysing notice and construction contract claims: A practical guide to the operation of notice requirements and time bars" at the Melbourne masterclass on 21 October.
