Peter Megens

Peter Megens is a partner in the Melbourne Office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques where he specialises in construction, dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration and mediation, energy and natural resources, infrastructure and project structuring.  Peter is currently actively involved in arbitration and mediation throughout Australia and internationally.

Peter is also an Adjunct Professor of Law, Murdoch University.  He was one of the first Accredited Specialists in Alternate Dispute Resolution (Arbitration) with the Law Institute of Victoria from 1996.  He is a Graded Arbitrator and Mediator and Former Victorian Chapter Chairman of IAMA and National Councillor of IAMA.  He is also the Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Australian Chapter), a Chartered Arbitrator, a Fellow of IAMA, Vice President and Fellow of ACICA, Deputy Chair of the Law Council of Australia Construction and Infrastructure Law Sub-Committee and a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

Peter is also widely published and has presented regularly at conferences.

Peter will be presenting a session entitled "Spotlight on an emerging trend: Arbitration" at the Melbourne masterclass on 21 October.
