Spencer Flay

A Partner in Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s Construction Practice in Perth, Spencer is experienced in dispute resolution across the construction and energy and resources industries, including disputes in large civil and mining construction projects in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Spencer has acted for the Principal in an ICC Arbitration conducted under Jordanian law before a three member panel in the London Arbitration Centre.  The arbitration concerned the design and construction under a FIDIC form contract of a magnesia plant on the Dead Sea in Jordan.  He has also acted for a Hong Kong Contractor in an arbitration conducted under the Hong Kong ad hoc Arbitration Rules heard at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).  The arbitration concerned the installation of fibre optics in the Cheung Kong Centre.

Presently, Spencer works on matters related to the mineral resources, oil and gas and construction industries in Australia and abroad.

Spencer will be presenting a session on "Spotlight on an emerging trend: Arbitration" at the Brisbane masterclass on 7 October.
