David Rodighiero is a Partner in Carter Newell’s Construction and Engineering group.  David was admitted as a solicitor of the Queensland Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia in 1996.  His practice includes the negotiation of a wide range of construction, engineering, procurement, maintenance, finance and consultancy agreements for commercial and infrastructure projects.  As a result David has worked with many of the construction and engineering industry’s leading participants. 

David has experience with construction disputes including time-related claims (prolongation, disruption, acceleration and liquidated damages), variation claims, defective works claims, subcontractors' charges claims and BCIPA claims.  David's experience includes having recently provided advice and the conduct of large contractual disputes concerning the construction of facilities for major mining and utility companies in Northern Queensland and facilities in Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and New Zealand.

David's legal experience is complemented by the industrial and engineering experience he gained while working for the engineering division of a Queensland mining company, Queensland Transport and general experience within the civil constructions and mechanical industries.

In addition David has written numerous articles and presented papers to industry participants on contract drafting and negotiation, risk management and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on Australian Standard form contracts.  David also holds certificates in mediation and is a registered adjudication under the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act. 

David will be presenting a session entitled "Examining the introduction of the Australian Consumer Law and its effect on the construction industry" at the Brisbane masterclass on 7 October.
