Bruce Whittaker

Bruce Whittaker is a senior partner in the Banking & Finance practice of Blake Dawson, based in Melbourne.

Bruce is recognised in international legal directories as one of the world's leading structured finance and securitisation lawyers.  He advises clients on the securitisation of a wide range of assets including mortgages, credit cards, trade receivables, commercial loans, corporate bonds, lease portfolios, commercial mortgage portfolios, agribusiness loan portfolios and whole businesses.  Bruce also has a leading leveraged and acquisition finance practice, and assists major corporates, leading private equity houses and their financiers to finance both trade sale and listed company takeover acquisitions.

Bruce has been closely involved in the development of the PPS legislative package.  He has participated in submissions on successive drafts of the PPSA and associated legislation and regulations, and has appeared before the related Senate inquiries.  Bruce is also an Editor and contributing author of the upcoming looseleaf and online service Personal Property Securities Law in Australia, to be released by LexisNexis.

Bruce holds a combined B.A. (Hons) and LL.B (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.  Bruce is a member of the Finance and Treasury Association, a committee member of the Banking and Financial Services Law Association and a representative member of the Australian Securitisation Forum and the Asia-Pacific Loan Markets Association.
