Matt Ireland specialises in corporate law, practising in the area of mergers and acquisitions.  He has recently returned to Allens after spending time with a leading London private equity practice where he acted for some of London's most successful private equity firms on portfolio company sales, acquisitions and restructurings.  

Matt has been involved in a number of high-profile M&A transactions, both public and private, including:

• Telecom NZ's sale of its AAPT consumer business to iiNet Limited and the sell down of its 18% stake in iiNet;
• the receivers of Connector Motorways' sale of the Lane Cove Tunnel and Military Road E-Ramp concessions to Transurban Group;
• Westpac's acquisition of the RAMS Homeloans brand and franchise network; and
• Brookfield Asset Management Inc.'s off-market takeover bid for the Multiplex Group's
