Yuen-Yee Cho

Yuen-Yee Cho is a Partner in the Banking & Finance group of Mallesons Stephen Jaques.  She specialises in leveraged and acquisition financings, project/infrastructure finance and general corporate finance.

Recent matters include advising a bank group financing a private equity bid for Healthscope, CHAMP on its acquisition of ATF and its bid for Loscam (2010), CVC on its original acquisition financing for the Stella group and the subsequent restructure (2008-9), the banks on the original $4.2bn PBL Media financing and subsequent restructure (2007-2008).  Yuen-Yee also acted for KKR in its A$1.8bn acquisition of BIS Cleanaway (2006), its subsequent Cleanaway exit (2007) and for the private equity consortium in its bid for Coles (2006).

Yuen-Yee has been ranked a leading practitioner in Banking & Finance/Acquisition Finance in Chambers’ Global Guide to the Legal Profession 2009, Best Lawyers in Australia 2008-9, PLC Which Lawyer, Asian Legal Business’s Legal Who’s Who, Guide to the World’s Leading Banking Lawyers 2009 and the International Who’s Who of Project Finance Lawyers 2009.

Yuen-Yee has a B.Ec / LL.B (Hons I) from the University of Sydney and a BCL (Hons I) from Oxford University.  She is a member of the Asia-Pacific Loan Market Association (Australia Branch) Documentation Committee and was a board member of the Banking & Financial Services Law Association of Australia and New Zealand from 2002-2006.
